Heavenly Clam Chowder

2 cans minced clams
4 cups finely diced potatoes
1 cup finely diced onion
1 1/2 cup finely diced celery
1 pt. half and half cream
1 pt. milk
3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
2 T. red wine vinegar
White pepper to taste
3 bay leaves
1 Tbsp. parsley
1 tsp tabasco

Drain clam juice over uncooked veggies, cover with water to cover veggies. Simmer until veggies are just tender. Melt butter then add four, salt, sugar and white pepper. Cook for 1 min stiring with wire wisk, add cream and continue stirring until smooth and thick, add to veggies. Then add clams and rest of ingredients stir until thick.

I don't normally like clam chowder, but I'm kind of excited to give this a try. Sounds perfect on a snowy night and with homemade rolls!!!

I love clam chowder, but my husband does not. So, Janet, maybe we can try this one out for a girls night one time. It sounds delicious!
